Walker's Birthday Party (The Big One)

On the Saturday before Walker's birthday, we had a big party here with some of our friends who have babies Walker's age and our family and close friends. We had a blast! It was an early morning party for several reasons: Walker loves his afternoon nap. The hogs were playing that evening. Nobody wants a sleepy baby at their own party.

The color theme was orange, baby blue, and dark blue.  I had a lot of fun decorating and enjoyed getting out my sewing machine again. (I did have to blow the dust off of it, I'll admit. I haven't had the time!)  Anna took the pictures with her fancy camera (thanks Anna!!!) and here they are!

Fever

Well, you may have noticed I fell off the bloggy world last week during my sweet boy's first birthday week. Well Savannah got THE FEVER VIRUS THAT NEVER ENDED. She started running fever Sunday afternoon and literally had 101-103 until Friday afternoon. She had no other symptoms besides no appetite and no energy. She slept so much and obviously could not go to school. It was rough. Somehow, thus far, Walker has avoided catching it but two other classmates of hers got it. I'm just glad to see my sunshine-y girl's smile again!

Pet smart for an outing. Because of course we would!
"I otter be in bed". Savannah's most accurate pajamas. They were made for this late night diva. We found them at the Seattle aquarium. :)

Walker At 12 Months

I can't believe my baby boy is ONE!!! Walker is full of personality and love and happy smiles. He is weighing in around 24-25 pounds (appointment this week) and I have no idea about height or head. He is wearing 12-18 and mostly 18 month clothes, size 4 diapers, and size 4 shoe. He is about to get his first haircut, his hair is hanging over his eyebrows, threatening to cover his eyes!

Walker loves his bottles still and haves about 4 6-oz bottles. We will have to work on cutting those out pretty soon I guess. He loves to eat yogurt, cheese mandarin oranges, and Cheerios and puffs. He will try almost anything but he is not a big eater at all yet. He has some trouble swallowing big bites of food still and ends up gagging and throwing up food that he can't gum down. Walker has 8 teeth and is about to have his bottom two molars we are pretty sure. And I forgot to mention he loves birthday cake evidently.

Walker can say mama, dada, hot, cat, walk, nana, sannah (Savannah!), gentle (he thinks the cats names are Gentle because we are constantly saying that when he's "petting" them😃), bye bye, ba ba, lala. He can shake his head yes and no, and he knows where his head, hair, nose, belly, and toes are. He can wave bye bye and blow a kiss. He can call the HOGS! (However, we do all of his tricks all the time and then when it comes time to show them off he never does them!!)

Walker is crawling everywhere and pulling up on everything while cruising along the furniture. He's stood by himself a couple of times but he's not ready to walk just yet. Getting there, though!

Walker thinks everything Savannah does is the greatest thing in the world and that mama and daddy hung the moon. If we are around he wants no one else usually. He is tough to get to belly laugh but almost always is smiling. He has a really sweet relaxed demeanor unless he's sleepy or starving.

I can't imagine our little family without this ray of sunshine. He is such a blessing to us!
Are we done yet, mama?

We went out to find Caddo at the window and then took some pics in the onesie I made him to wear to school on his bday. He went for about 4 hours just for lunch snack and nap, and hung out with me the rest of the day either at my office or home.
Here's your picture Mama.
Walker at 3:53 PM on September 23, 2014! A far cry from him exactly one year ago. I went and picked him up in time to see him at the exact time he was born!

"Walker, smile for mama?" And this is what I got:

There's my big sweet boy. Full of sweetness, that one. I am so blessed.
