Typical Behavior

Just a typical night in our house...you know, winding down after bath time...

Trying on mama's shoes...

Riding around the house in the laundry basket with Daddy...

Giving Caddo a ride around the house in the laundry basket...

Cheesing for the camera...

Nothing left to do but pack the purses and head to bed!

Night y'all, see ya later! (or good morning, as most of you are probably reading!)

Someone special has a birthday tomorrow! Savannah can't wait to celebrate this weekend!

Cutie-Pie

Just a quick hello from my cutie-pie to you!  She looks like such a big girl in her outfit today.  Can't believe she's getting so big!

squeezing the life outta that little kitty.  No wonder Cadence keeps his distance :)

Yes it was 70 something today so she wore socks instead of tights!

I just love the 'toddler squat'.  it screams cuteness to me!
Y'all have a good day!

Monday Funday

Today has been a great day! I hope my Tuesday turns out just as well!  I made an Italian Crescent Bake which is basically like spaghetti sauce and meat on the bottom of a pan, covered in sour cream and mozzarella, then topped with a huge sheet of crescent roll dough  that is covered in butter and parmesan cheese.  It is super tasty.  Then I enjoyed looking at my new project on the wall that Birc and I made on Sunday, followed by working out with Birc, Savannah going to sleep at 7:45 [someone skipped their nap at class today...] watching the Biggest Loser AND the Bachelor, and snuggling with my boysies.  Wish I had had a little more time with my sweet girl but she was exhausted from no-nap Mondays.  She refused a nap last Monday too but hopefully she'll get back with the schedule by tomorrow.

Have you had these? SO GOOD. Makes me miss my roomie Valarie! We used to make this homemade and eat the whole batch

Here's my new 'organization station' that isn't full yet [thankgoodness] but I'm excited to put all sorts of family stuff up there and there's also our calendar and my perpetual birthday calendar!

It's right by our back door so it is the perfect location to check stuff as I'm walking out the door. [hopefully Birc does too.]
And guess what Anna?!? Daddy and I figured out how to get the Christening photos from his ipad to my macbook.  So since I have no photos of my baby girl from today, I'll post these!

Precious baby.  I wish I could reach right through this screen and squeeze that tiny girl!

Weekend Wrap-Up

I would just like to preface this post with a comment and observation on the precious 13-month old I have.  She has entered the stage where she REFUSES to look at my camera (phone) and absolutely will not crack a smile when I ask (beg and plead and try to bargain) her to. Oh well at least I can look back and know what her serious face looked like at this stage! What else can I do???

We started our weekend going out to lunch with Savannah's favorite 1-year old friends Caroline and Caleb and their mamas, and Savannah wore this homemade outfit! The shirt was actually a 3-month sleep sack that we got as a gift for her.  She has almost no monogrammed clothing (although I love it, I can't justify it cause it's so expensive) and so I wanted to take full advantage of this onesie.  It seemed big when she wore it when she was tiny and now I can see why.  I just cut the sleeves off that had the hand-covers on them and then cut the sack part off and hemmed it to be shirt-length, then sewed up a little matching skirt to go with it.  I had some extra fabric and make a little flower bow too.  :)

Anyway, after lunch, CC was in Little Rock and came to hang out with Savannah while I went to work and then Grandad came over after work, then Birc got home and we all went to my favorite, Izzy's, restaurant and had a great time just hanging out!

[not sure why it looks like SCM has a dent and bruise on her forehead here.   Lighting.]

Then Saturday, Birc and I both had to work in the morning so she went and hung out at Nana and Gran's until after lunch and then she and I just hung out all afternoon waiting on Birc to get home. We ran a few errands and then went out with our good friends for dinner and they came over after and we had a super time!
Savannah is showing me her teeth here in the reverse camera on my iphone

Pigtails!

Then Sunday we went to church and had a great service, made a really cool wall hanging that I'll show you tomorrow, and made dinner for our friends who just had a baby in December.  Savannah and Charlotte are birthday buddies, exactly one year apart! Charlotte was born on Savannah's birthday!  Birc and Joe went to college together and have been longtime friends and we are thrilled about their precious baby girl.

We also snuck in lots of outdoor time in only 10-minute increments as it is slightly cold and windy still here so Savannah's hands get SO COLD.

Happy Monday to everybody!

TGIF

It has been one of those weeks for me, so I am glad to see the weekend showing it's pretty face! The only exciting thing I have to report today, is, that Savannah wore her TOMS from Anna that Anna bought her when Savannah was in my belly still! Anna got a pretty discount from the Clinton Store while she was in grad school and thought her niece-to-be must have a pair of black sparkly TOMS.  They finally fit now and Savannah looked adorable of course! Mixed with her skinny cords and zebra shirt she was stylin'.  :)

Happy weekend, y'all! Have a graham cracker like Savannah plans to.  :)

Savannah Snapshot

Savannah has had a lot going on since I last posted an update on her 'growing'.  I figured I wouldn't do a monthly update after her 1 year birthday but it is nice to look back and see what we've come from! Just two weeks shy of being 14 months old, Savannah is sleeping through the night now, has been about since her birthday.  Who knows why but we are just glad she's doing it! It is usually between 12-13 hours straight.  So Nice. She's also drinking her whole cows milk, cold, through a sippy cup. We are still working on increasing the amount she takes every day because she just doesn't seem to be very thirsty but it has gotten better from when we first started.  I weaned her about 3 weeks after her birthday and it has been such a [mostly] wonderful transition! I, of course, miss being able to have that one-on-one time with her but it was SO time and she and I are both happier I think. [I sure don't miss lugging that pump around every day.] Savannah loves going to 'school' every day and she is learning so much! She is eating a TON of food and that's probably because she's not drinking quite enough whole milk. But it is also helpful that she's now got a whopping 8 TEETH! She's got 3 molars and 3 on the front top and 2 on the front bottom altogether.

Savannah can basically run now she is moving so fast! She's gotten tall enough to move her ride-on cars with her own feet.  She can say tons of words now and is following 2 and 3-step commands [go get your books and put them in the basket] very easily.  She's trying tons of new foods and we are letting her sample more and more things.  She'll walk around the house or in the yard holding my finger (which I love).  She lets us rock her to sleep.  She can get in and out of child-sized chairs all by herself.  [If you're still reading, good job]  She likes to sleep with her Flopsy and 3-5 pacifiers in her hands.  :) We are working on limiting the paci to just sleep times.  It seems to be fine with Savannah so far.  She takes one nap a day for anywhere from a short 45 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. She is finally back to taking baths again.  She was scared of them for about a month and a half and absolutely refused anything except a shower in our shower.  I'm talking HYSTERICAL crying if we put her in the bath.  Birc and I figure something must have scared her sometime that we were unaware of.

I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting but I just couldn't let myself not post these updates so I can go back and look later.  And for the most of you skipping down to pictures, here my sweetie!

lunch Monday on her Valentine plate! Tis the season for love!

Tuesday before school in her fairy smocked dress :)

Cheese!

She LOVES to carry both of these balls around.  They were both favors from kid's bday parties and have been favorites since bringing them home!

crazy after-bath hair

This morning she wasn't quite ready to get up for the day apparently. :)
