Our Weekend [+ a few spring break things]

We had a very low key weekend! My favorite kind! Friday night my cousin Emily came by and ate dinner with a friend and she was the best play friend ever for Savannah.  Savannah thought everything Emily did was JUST AWESOME and was so wired!  We got some yard work done on Saturday and had a little bit of a family movie night on Saturday night (Lion King) (more on that later) and went to church Sunday and went to Nana and Gran's Sunday night.

Also last week, I took Savannah to the Wonder Place to play one day, and a few other pictures are posted here that are cute and I forgot to blog about it. Picnic in the den.  smiling babies.  sleeping babies. playing siblings. Jemimah Puddleduck dress of Anna's that Savannah is now wearing.

Sand table [where, just for my memory, my "mama bear" instinct kicked in for about the first time ever.  Another little girl playing at the table kept swiping all of the toys Savannah would pick up, and kept dumping out all of the bins Savannah would fill with sand.  The mom just kept talking on her phone and glancing over every so often, telling the little girl to share. Savannah was such a good girl each time her stuff got swiped, and would just turn around to me with a sad face and a pouty lip, but when I would tell her to find something else, she would.  We only left the sand table so I didn't tackle the kid.]

water table. ew.

the "sandwich" Savannah made for me with the play food.  Obv I looked hungry.

What Walker thought of the Wonder Place. :)

the "River Market" it is a mimic of the River Market in our downtown with a little farmer's market set up for her to shop in.

Notice the scanner in her right hand, she is scanning all of her items. She loves to shop.

Veterinarian Savannah

she kept singing "Time for your checkup, time for your checkup!" from doc mcstuffins.

Lastly, I have a really big week at work this week.  Probably the busiest week of the school year.  So this might be the only blog post this week.  We'll see what I can get done! Happy April!

Walker at 6 Months

Walker is 6 months old and I cannot believe it!  He's such a good baby, I feel so lucky! [[I'm SO tired at this present moment but really want to get this post up, so I am going to try to be concise.]]  Walker is eating 6 ounce bottles about every 2 1/2 hours in the day. He generally sleeps from about 9:30 PM until sometime between 5 and 9 AM.  He's usually a very good sleeper.  He has his nights, though, and it is BRUTAL when he doesn't sleep all night.  Birc gets up with him every night and feeds him the first time he wakes up (and usually there's only one so I luck out!) He's wearing a size 2 diaper (barely) and wearing 6 month and 6-9 month clothing except for pants and he is wearing 3-6 month pants.  Anything that is a footed anything is 6 or 6-9 month because his torso is SO long.

Walker is jabbering up a storm right now and he just started doing this adorable, albeit very messy, trick of sticking his tongue out and blowing spit everywhere.  Walker also started getting HANGRY this month.  When he is hungry, he is hungry, and he lets anyone within earshot know about it.  He screams so loudly and then you put that bottle in his mouth and he says "aahh".  He has 2-3 bottles of formula each day and 4-6 breastmilk bottles every day.  Just depends on how many times he eats in the night, and how many times I was able to pump the day before.  I returned to work this month and pumping is just as hard to fit into my schedule as it was with Savannah.  I'm doing my best.

Walker still is on Zantac twice a day for acid reflux and we can really tell if he is outgrowing his dose or if we accidentally miss one.  He also is taking about an ounce of prune juice as the formula kinda slows things down if you know what I mean.  Walker weighs about 17 pounds I think, and I am not sure on head or length.  We go for our 6 month appointment next week or the next so I will find out then.  All I know is he is a chunk and I love it! When he was so tiny in the NICU I just craved holding a baby with all the fat rolls and wrinkles and I love it now! He is so roly poly!  Walker is trying to sit up these days.  We are really working on it and he's getting really good.  He can also prop himself up on his belly with his arms out straight in front of him like a yoga pose.  He sleeps on his belly all the time and rolls all around.  I can put him one place and I come back and he's in a totally different area and facing a different way and usually on the opposite back or belly.  Walker is ready to be mobile!

Walker can smile and laugh and coo and jibber jabber.  He loves to watch Savannah doing anything.  He also loves seeing the cats and watching them.  He likes to be read to and loves to hear someone sing to him.  he's started jumping in his bouncer/exersaucer thing.  Walker recognizes us and his eyes and mouth smile so big when he sees us! I love it!  He knows his name and will turn when I say it.  He is putting everything in the world in his mouth and drooling all over everything.  I mean everything.  He is such a drooly baby lately! His teeth are probably moving.  He is grabbing at toys and pulling things toward him when he wants them.

Of course we think he's perfect.  Here are the pictures to prove it!  [If I used hashtags, #photobombs #purplesheets #lifewithanoldersister #sittingupfails #picturesmidspitbubbles]

notice said spit bubble above

I got it, mama. just give me a second.

no, seriously. I can do this.

ok. SO HARD to sit up.

I give up. This pillow will catch me.

NOW IT GOT IT!!!   There's my cutie!

Wye Mountain

So, there's this "mountain" [not sure if it actually qualifies as a mountain?] in Arkansas. Wye Mountain.  I always thought it was like in the middle of NOWHERE and would take me at least an hour to drive to.  Well, turns out it is 24 minutes from my house and once a year the Wye United Methodist Church has a daffodil festival where there are literally thousands and thousands of flowers covering the hill beside the church.  It is free and you can go anytime and take pictures of your cute pets and children. Storms were blowing in for the next 24 hours, the sun was still shining, and I was off work for Spring Break.  So of course we drove over there at like 5:30 PM (Birc wasn't off work yet so he could not go. bummer.)  Here are our pictures! [all from my iPhone, sorry!]
