Happy Birthday Maxwell!

An hour early, but happy 2nd birthday to Maxwell! We hope you have a great day! [you may not be able to tell, but the sign I made was such a big hit, I had to make two so she could play with one and I could use the other one]

Bubblegum Pink!

I painted SCM's toenails for the first time today! I've been dying to do it but putting it off at the same time, thinking it would make her seem grown up, and I was right, she has such big-girl looking toes now! Oh well, it was bound to happen eventually. :) taking a picture of her toes was more difficult than the toenail painting. Hah!

New class in daycare!

Monday started a new class at daycare for Savannah. She just went in smiling and was ready to get down and play! Her new teacher is Ms Corrie and there are 3 other precious babies with Savannah. The first pic is of Savannah in our closet while I got ready Monday. Yes she's playing with a hanger, but don't worry I was watching the whole time. It's like her favorite toy. :)

4 Generations

Yesterday was Birc's granddad's 93 birthday so we all got together this past weekend to celebrate. I couldn't let everyone go without snapping a picture of 4 generations all together! Happy Monday and back to school for everybody!

Painting Feet

A while back, Birc and I wanted to do something special for my mom for giving up 11 weeks of her life to come stay with Savannah while I had to go back to work. We decided to have a vase painted at a local pottery store. Savannah got to put her footprints on it and Birc and I put our thumbprints on it. It is a flower scene with flowers, butterflies, and bees. It says "CC's love makes all things grow" since she helped SCM grow as she took care of her! Savannah thought the pottery store employee was hilarious painting her feet bottoms! I couldn't blog about it until the vase was finished, and it took about a month for that to happen. Here are the pictures!

Pretty girl!

I love putting Savannah in some of her "new" clothes! She's just adorable. We caught her in a laughing fit for this little session :) and her hair looks so red in these pics to me. What do y'all think?

8 months, baby girl!

I cannot believe my baby girl is 8 months old! It seems like she was just born and here she is, such a grown up looking baby! Savannah has had a busy month filled with learning a lot and lots of new experiences.

She can say the following consonant sounds: b, c, d, g, k, m, p, s, t, and th.  I think she's just brilliant of course.  :) She is talking a bunch these days and we love it! She still screams at the top of her lungs just for fun and it can be either hilarous or very embarrassing, depending on where we are!

Sweet girl is still taking 6 oz in bottle of breastmilk at daycare and nursing when we are together.  She is eating solids two or three times each day.  She's eaten sweet potatoes, apples, pears, squash, green beans, and she likes sweet potatoes and apples the best.  We also let her sample almost everything we are eating except anything with nuts or shellfish.

She is still not sleeping consistently through the night but does so about half or maybe a third of the time.  She sleeps in her crib or her carseat, depending on what she wants. :) I am just not a mama who can let her baby cry it out.  I know most people tell me that is what I should be doing or have done by now, but it just does NOT seem natural for Savannah's and my relationship.  Other people can do it and it is just fine but it is not for me.  Therefore, I try not to complain about being tired so much anymore, but it still happens (the complaining), I won't lie.

Savannah is almost crawling! She is scooting on her belly everywhere and can spin, roll, and turn every which way but is not up on her hands and knees with her belly off the ground for any length of time yet.  She can move herself all around the house if we let her though. I have no idea how much she weighs or how long/tall she is but I don't think she's grown much at all since 7 months because she still fits in everything she was wearing. In months past, I was packing up clothes each month and I haven't put one thing away this month as it all still fits.  I'll try to weigh and measure her asap.
Just keeping it real.  The whole photo shoot was not all smiles.  :)

Everything is going in this girl's mouth but she still has NO TEETH.  I can't believe it but apparently she'll be gumming down her food forever more.  About every third day I pick her up at daycare, her teachers tell me, 'she must be getting teeth tonight because she is so drool-y and is chewing on everything.'  But nothing ever happens :)

Savannah is wearing all 6 month, 6-9, and 6-12 month clothes and is still in size 3 swaddler diapers.  She went out of Arkansas for the first time to Branson with Anna and Aaron and Tucker (the doggie) and us. She's figured out how to clap this month and smiles on command when we hold a camera cell phone up to her.  She knows her name and who mama, daddy, Caddo, Cadence, CC, Grandad, Nana, Gran, Aaron, Anna, Bon Jovi, and Dixie all are.  There is some controversy over this, but she does say bye bye, Dada, and a few other little word/sounds for stuff.  The controversy is over whether she knows what she's saying to count it as her first word or not.  Clearly I am sure she doesn't know what she's saying but Birc is equally sure she called him Dada one day.  ;) We'll see! I think she might understand bye bye though, because when we get in the car and she's in her seat, she goes 'bye bye bye bye bye bye...' and it's adorable!

Savannah, we love you so much and I am so happy you are my baby girl! I can't imagine life without you now that you're here! I am so happy you seem to be over the colic and feeling so happy and smiley all the time now.  Everywhere we go people comment on what a happy baby she is and I just soak it up every. single. time.  I can't wait to see what next month brings!
Kudos to you if you made it to the end of this long post!

Just a hello

Or goodnight, really, from the cutest baby in the world. :) I love her! Stay tuned for an 8 month post Friday!

Ode to Soap

This soap bottle lasted exactly 8 months and I just couldn't trash it without a blog post dedicated to it. Hah! This is the one and only thing I've found with having a child that does not run out after one or two uses (diapers, wipes, food, rash cream, the list goes on and on). Savannah has a bath almost every night and this is the only thing we use regularly that we haven't had to go buy more of. I am amazed it lasted so long! If only all the other things you need for baby lasted 8 months... :)

Happy Anniversary!

To CC and Grandad! Hope you two have a fabulous day and know how much we all love you. If you two hadn't gotten married, none of us would be here! Love y'all!

Weekend recap

We spent the weekend in Branson with Anna and Aaron and another couple, Shelly and Andy, shopping and hanging out! I am not around my computer to edit this post so I'm having to use the crappy app that won't let me rearrange pictures or write captions or anything, so just make up your own story with these pictures! We had a fabulous time and Savannah did great on her first trip outside of Arkansas :)
