HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and Our Weekend

Most importantly, we want to wish Gran a very much deserved happy happy birthday! More pictures at the bottom of this post!

Our weekend was PACKED with activities and honestly I am glad for the week to get started (almost) so things can settle down.  We started out Saturday morning going to get some family pictures taken by my friend Cara Beth of Cara Beth Studio-the one who took all of Savannah's pictures since birth! We had such a fun time and I can't wait to see the results!

Then we hopped across town to the Heifer Village to see my celebrity sister speak about health policy and she did a great job! Luckily it was a very casual setting so Savannah was not totally distracting to everyone. She even went up and sat in Anna's lap at one point during the talk.  In Savannah's defense, Anna invited her up there!

we are exactly opposite matching.  Obviously didn't plan it, this is what I wore for family pics and this is what Anna wore for her talk. We're just related.  This used to happen randomly when we were growing up, we'd walk out of our rooms after getting ready for school and be in the same outfit without knowing or planning.  :)

Then it was time for Lee's birthday party at The Little Gym. Lee's a classmate of Savannah's.  This was Savannah's second time at The Little Gym and she loved it so much! Since it was back across town, she was able to get a little 20 minute nap in during the car ride.  (usually she naps for like an hour or two so this was really short)

We had an outfit change because the previous outfit was more "fall-ish" for our family pics and The Little Gym makes you sweaty!

Then we came home to watch the HOG massacre with CC and Grandad which was depressing but not unexpected really. I mean we aren't going to be national champs this year by any means.  After that we went to a gender reveal party for some of our friends who are due in February with their first baby! It's a girl and we're thrilled for them! However, at the party another little boy got sick and threw up, and Savannah got SO scared.  After just getting over the stomach bug a month or so ago, she is terrified of vomiting I think. Combined with no nap basically that day, and we had to leave the party because she couldn't settle down.  It HAD been a long day and she was a trooper really.

Sunday we went to church.  I put her in this dress for the last time-it's a 12 month, and it's getting to be fall weather, so I figure it is the end of the time for this dress :(

After lunch with Sunday School friends, we napped and then played outside in the beautiful 72 degree weather.

Oh my the sweetness.

Then, I went to lead my kids' choir and Birc and Savannah went to Nana and Gran's to get a birthday celebration underway! I joined them shortly after :) Savannah said "happy birday, Gan" about a hundred times while we were there!   It was so cute! We love you Gran and hope this is your best year yet!

Savannah loves her Gran and loves how much he plays with her and pushes her around in the car and the rocket, and just in general spoils her and does everything she asks him to do :) She will grab his finger and pull hard and say "Gan, come" and pull him into the playroom to play.  He always agrees!  She is a lucky girl to have you, Gran! We all love you!

Little Irish Girl

Well I really don't know what all Savannah is, but she dressed up like a little Irish girl last night and wanted to "see! see!" herself in the selfie camera on my phone.  So she took a few pics of herself.  :) Happy Friday to all!

Also pictured: Savannah's current FAVORITE book.  We read it over 12 times last night. :)  She is very very animated throughout the whole story and basically tells it herself, with serious "Oh NO! Where is my mother?!?" exclamations.  :)

Pockets and Daddy Shirt

Savannah wore a "daddy shirt" Wednesday.  She calls it that because it is a Polo shirt with the little Polo logo man on a horse thing and Birc wears Polos ALL the time unless he is wearing a suit for work.  AND, she found her pockets again.  I remembered to snap a picture.  Such a cutie!

Random Thoughts

1. We (Savannah and me) love Face Timing with Anna and Aaron and Soapy (Sophie) and Tucker! It is always entertaining to see what she is going to do to impress them with her skills and smarts.

2. Good luck to CC today for her luncheon! We are thinking about you!

3. Savannah had a rough day yesterday.  Birc and I think her 2 year molars are making their way towards the surface and have been giving tylenol off and on which seems to help her mood and also she keeps her hands out of her mouth after she's had a dose.  I couldn't convince her to take any before going to class today so I mentioned it to her teacher and said to call me if she was fussy and had her hands in her mouth.  Ms. Edie promptly called me about an hour after I dropped her off to come see if she would take some tylenol.  When she saw me she LIT UP and was so excited! She grabbed her blanket (it was close to quiet time) and Flopsy and her hair bow (which she takes out herself every day at nap time) and said, bye bye Edie, bye bye ______(enter every friend's name in her class) and thought she was leaving with me. I felt like the worst mama of the world. I had THE hardest time leaving her crying and calling my name, and it was just so hard for this hormonal pregnant mama.  I sat outside her room to wait for her to stop crying after I had to leave (almost an hour after giving the tylenol, mind you).  People say I am so lucky to work in the same place that Savannah goes to daycare but I almost never visit her and this is why.  It is so much harder for me to say bye bye more than one time per day and hard and confusing on Savannah too. :(

4. Savannah and I went to a little park up the road on the way to pick up our pizza for dinner and she had such a fun time exploring a new place.

5. I finished getting our pantry organized today and also finished getting all of Savannah's closet switched over from 12-18 month mostly to mostly 24 mo/2T.  So not a baby! :(

6. Happy happy birthday to my aunt Jan! We hope you have a great day! Also a belated blog Happy Birthday to my cousin Keath. I told you on FB but forgot to post it here. Hope both of your next years are the best yet!

Ms. Edie sent me this picture and it made me feel so much better.  Sweet girl napping :)

She went down a big kid tube slide!

Weekend Post Part 2

We had a busy weekend, cheering on the hogs to another win, visiting CC and Grandad, visiting Nana and Gran, going to church, playing with the boysies, and just watching Savannah being her cute self.  Enjoy the pics!

Savannah made a hole in one on the putting green at CC and Grandad's country club.  She carried a golf ball and dropped it right in the hole! hah!

Gran in the Cozy Coupe!

Mama and Savannah after church Sunday.  See her Alice and Wonderland smock? Adorable.

Loving (choking) Caddo.

Sharing her cereal

counting to 10 with acorns at CC and Grandad's!

more driving at Gran's

she wanted to go in the 'pool' so badly the whole day at CC and Grandad's but we didn't bring any swim gear.

CC, I see something!

It's over there! (we never figured out what it was)

Her Cuteness on Friday before school.  I just hadn't had a chance to blog these pictures yet.

That's all, folks!
