Happenings

We made caramel apples at my program and here are just a few of the adorable ones! I am encouraging anyone to go home and make one right now-so easy! We just heated up those caramel candies and a little milk and then dipped the apples with a popsicle stick stuck in, dropped on toppings and sprinkles on them and voila! They were ready to eat!

Savannah is also just walking all around the house, but still using her walker toy from Grandad and CC.  She is moving and grooving!

Birthday Dinner from last week

I hadn't posted about it yet but Ann and Skip took me to the best steakhouse in LR, Arthur's Steakhouse! It is SO SO very good and the 5 of us went Thursday night and I am still full thinking about it!

We all had a super time and great food, and I love an excuse for getting dressed up and putting Savannah in anything smocked!

Pumpkin Carving!

We carved our pumpkin Monday night! It was super fun just like always.  This is one of the first traditions that Birc and I have together, and we have carved a pumpkin every Halloween since we've known each other.  This is our 6th pumpkin to carve together!

Here are some flashbacks to our pumpkin carving evenings:

Our Weekend In Pictures

Hope you guys had a great weekend like we did!
Sunday afternoon walk wore this girl right out.  She couldn't even eat that last puff so she saved it for later right by her cheek. :)

Happy Halloween preview! We had our church's fall carnival on Sunday night and miss S was the cutest Minnie Mouse you ever did see!

dinner afterwards was a bit messy as you can see
not a great smile from SCM but it shows the whole outfit! Precious girl!

Saturday we went to the park to swing and we tried out the slide.

It was a HUGE success to say the least!

I mean look at those dimples!
Then Savannah played in the bark for a while and had fun passing it back and forth between mama and daddy.  She is turning into such a sharer-she wants to feed us her food, give us her toys, everything.  It's really sweet!

Daddy, I've got some awesome bark chips for you here! I know you want them, right?

pretty girl on Sunday morning in her fairy smocked cordurory dress.  :)

Back tomorrow for more catch up!

Well, it's safe to say...

...these won't be all over our house in frames! Savannah got her first-ever school pictures taken and she was terrified of the photographer to say the least. We might get one since its under $10 just for posterity. :) still a cutie though.

Top 12 Reasons 29 Is My Favorite Birthday Ever

12. All my favorite people in the world got to go to my favorite restaurant, Izzy's and everyone enjoyed their meal I think! Birc, Daddy, Mama, Granddaddy, Aaron, Anna, and Savannah and I all loved our meals!
11. My mom and dad had a tasty and beautiful birthday cake made for me that was just my color-purple!
10. My husband picked up on the fact that I have a birthday week, not just one day. Therefore I have been spoiled every day and feel so lucky![flowers for my office, car washed, being woken up to opening a bday gift, picked up some glitter nail polish for me so my toes and fingers could look like a party, etc.]
9. My birthday fell on a Wednesday so I got to go to work and see all my awesome kiddos and co-workers.
8. My kiddos all made me adorable birthday cards and my co-workers spoiled me with homeade cookies, Hot Tamales (my favorite candy), a mexican restaurant gift card, and a certificate for a pedicure at my favorite spa!
7. My in-laws got me a very nice gift card to my favorite clothes shop and are taking us out tomorrow night to an awesome steak restaurant, Arthur's, for dinner!
6. Birc brought me lunch from my favorite sandwich shop, Lenny's, and we got to eat lunch at home together.
5. Savannah slept for 13 hours straight, only waking once the night before my birthday, so I could feel rested up to celebrate!
4. My parents picked me out some awesome and super trendy shirts to wear with my skinny jeans as well as a side-cross necklace I'd had my eye on. [AND a Benji to pick out another something sometime soon!)
3. My granddaddy made the trip even thought it was a late night, and brought a sweet card with something extra in it!
2. Anna and Aaron were both thrilled with my restaurant choice, even though it is located past Mississippi Avenue! And they brought me an awesome cookbook from Williams-Sonoma, a perpetual birthday calendar, some yummy honey-herbal bath salts, and some super cute shirts that match pants I already have!
1. I am a mama on this birthday for the first time ever, and my baby girl TOOK HER FIRST STEPS ON MY BIRTHDAY NIGHT! And my whole family got to see it too-even her Great-Granddaddy!! She took at least 18 steps by herself tonight-I officially have a walker! (which means I need to re-evaluate the baby-proofing.)

I feel so lucky and blessed, and I honestly feel guilty for everyone loving on me so much.  I didn't even put in my top twelve, all my facebook posts, emails, texts, blog posts, and calls I received from wonderful family and friends but those just added to the greatness of my birthday.  I can't say thank you enough to all of you guys that made it special for me! I love you guys!

I'm sorry there's no pictures with this but I'll share those tomorrow.  I took none and let everyone else do the picture-taking, so could you guys send them to me (you know who you are)? Then I'll share them on the blog! I can't believe my baby girl walked for the first time on my birthday! What a memory!

It's My Birthday!

Well, another year has passed and I am almost 30! But I am soaking up this last year of my 20's and enjoying #29. I'm really looking forward to celebrating with all my favorite people tonight! Yay!

Also, because I don't think I shared this on the pumpkin patch post, here's another picture for kicks and giggles!

Vocabulary!

Savannah is really starting to parrot everything we say (or attempt it) and she can say several words that we can understand and I'm sure more that we cannot tell what it is.  She can say mama, dada, bye bye, ball, ba ba (for bottle), book (but the K isn't always so good), and Bon Bon (that's what we call Bon Jovi, my in-law's dog) and her new one is uh oh.  It is SO cute.  I think she picked it up from her teacher at school because we don't say it that much at home but we've found her lately dropping things on the floor on purpose just to say uh oh.  Sometimes it's just the "uh" of  "uh oh" but sometimes she gets both.  Either way it is adorable.  Precious girl.

Our Weekend

We had a super weekend around here! Savannah and I both started the weekend kind of rough though, with sore throats and fever all day Friday...and she definitely has gotten her two bottom teeth in as of Saturday! They are peeking through and I can see the top of both teeth now! Birc was also out of town until Saturday afternoon, so Savannah and I just layed low and tried to recover.  We went to a birthday party Saturday afternoon and then out Saturday night for Anna's birthday.

SCM looked so cute for church on Sunday in her Alice and Wonderland smocked dress! SO CUTE!
She wasn't too keen on smiling for a pic though :)

Sunday after church we got together with the fam and had a great brunch followed by fun family time :)
Sorry no pictures I have from lunch are good.  but here's her dessert!

Mama made Anna a stained glass window for Anna to prop up in her huge office window.  It was beautiful.  :)

Savannah napped most of the afternoon away but finally woke up to give the birthday girl a squeeze!

Cute couple!

Sophie-girl, Anna's cat, was thrilled to have wrapping materials to play with.

We also got lots of help from Savannah doing the dishes.

You know, it takes someone special to pull the drawers out and in and out and in and out and in.

This weekend Savannah started leaving the rooms we're in and going off to explore on her own. This is a new thing as she usually likes to be right beside us always. I'm excited for her independence! (but maybe I should be scared?)

She's also been standing a ton by herself and doing such a great job.  She wants to walk SO. BAD.

This purse was her cousin Anna's... Melissa, my sister-in-law, sent a huge tub of girl clothes and accessories to us a few months back and I thought Savannah might like this and I was right.  She's carried it all over the house!

Also, welcome Savannah's new cousin, Spencer Patterson Brown, born last Thursday the 18th! We can't wait to meet you!

Happy Birthday Anna!

We can't wait to celebrate with you and hope you have a great day! Savannah is so lucky to have such a smart, fun, outgoing aunt who she can learn so much from in the years to come! And I'm so lucky to have such a great sister who is always there for me. :)

Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes!

Well no bells on her toes, but she did have a ring on her finger! This ring was my baby ring when I was tiny! Savannah has one too but hers is still too big. Precious! (And hard to photograph!)
Oh, and I'm somewhat confident I might have seen a tooth breaking thru tonight! We'll see!

Pumpkin Patch!

Last weekend and the weekend before, Birc and I took Savannah to two different pumpkin patches! We had a great time at both! Here are some pictures :)
BoBrook was definitely the better of the two pumpkin patches.  Way more to do and better cheaper pumpkins!

They have all these 'see how tall you are this year" boards to stand up against!

Love this picture with her tiny smile :)

This is at Motley, which is also a Christmas tree farm as you can see behind us.  I made her dress the night before we went :)

This was the only plus to Motley-a swing set! Savannah loved it!

Bye bye, train ride! I'll catch ya next year!

more measurers. :)

What is this thing and why are there thousands around???
