Randoms and a Recap

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to sweet Delaney! I can't believe you're 4! It seems like yesterday that you were born and I couldn't wait to find out if you were a boy or girl and meet you! We love you and wish we could celebrate with you and drink some tea at your tea party but we will be thinking of you!

Second, I accidentally purchased my fave mascara in waterproof.  It is totally ruining my mornings! Every day I wake up after washing my face the night before and there are black circles under my eyes and it is very shocking until I realize it is just the mascara from yesterday that WON'T COME OFF.  Who buys waterproof mascara anyway?

Thirdly, Savannah is having her first non-relative babysitter this week! My friend is coming over after Savannah is hopefully asleep for the night and we are going out to celebrate a late dinner for our anniversary! Say a prayer for me cause I think I'll be a nervous wreck the whole time even though I love Hannah and know Savannah will be fine.  I just don't want Savannah to wake up and scream at Hannah for 2 hours.

Thirdly, we had a great weekend! Mother's Day was really fun and low-key which was a blessing.

Flowers for my office from Birc! Anniversary and Baby #2 and Mother's Day!

Surprise! We were peek-a-boo-ing it in a diaper box.  Best toys, you know.

Because the cats join in and that doubles the fun!

then we had mini-forts inside the box which was AWESOME apparently!

then Savannah pushed Caddo around. He loves it and she loves it and Birc and I think it is hilarious!

Saturday morning cuddles with Cadence.

Clearly a rough afternoon nap on Saturday.

my Mother's Day flowers from my wonderful sister-in-law and her family! My favorite color, purple, too! Savannah loves seeing the "ah-ers" every day.

Notice the sun-addict-Caddo in the background

Then Savannah walked the dogs over at Nana and Gran's house.  Which she thought was the best thing ever and refused to give up the leashes the rest of the walk.

go dogs go!

Mother's Day lunch!

after an outfit change Savannah started playing hard.  first with the vanity.

everybody had to powder their faces.  Great-Granddaddy was the first male to do it so Birc and Grandad figured it was acceptable.  Hah :)

relaxation!

Savannah was too interested in whatever Great-Granddaddy had, to look at the camera with a smile.

Then Savannah forced CC to empty her entire toy basket and play with EVERYTHING and avoid a nap until after 3:00! Somehow I don't think CC minded. :)
That's a picture overload for you.  See you guys tomorrow!

No news

Well TGIF! I love Fridays and this has been a busy week (I think I say that every week) so I love to see Friday on the horizon!  I don't have any new pictures from Thursday but I'll post the pic I took on Monday.  It's a terrible one of me but of course Savannah looks adorable. Y'all have a good weekend and we'll try to do the same! Happy Mother's Day to all the mamas!

Pigtail Love

I am loving doing Savannah's hair.  She probably doesn't share that love but hopefully she will :)  Here's the sassypants before we left the house this morning!

Here she's saying treat, treat! Because she was dividing out the cat treats to the boysies and is very thoughtful on who gets which treats.  after I put them on the ground she scrounges really fast to pick them up before they can eat any so she can divy them out!

Baby 2 Backstory

This is long so feel free to skip if you aren't interested! I have pictures below!  So it all started the weekend in March that we went to Garvan Gardens and the races.  When we were coming home that night, I just did not feel right and was extremely carsick on the way down and the way back.  Birc and I both joked that maybe I was pregnant.  But then the next morning (St. Patrick's Day, Anna and Aaron's anniversary!) we decided we better take a test so we would know.  I honestly had no inkling or thought that I was pregnant but Birc convinced me to take a test so we did and low and behold it said "Pregnant" Oh my! Surprise surprise!! So after getting on google and figuring out how far along I might be (what did people do before the internet??) we decided we would wait a bit to tell people.  Then Savannah got sick sick sick.  And Birc caught it.  And then I caught it.  And it went into my ears and my throat and my chest and you might remember me getting really sick and missing 3 days of work at the end of March??  Well I called my doctors and they all said, sorry you can't take anything, then all of a sudden my ears started screaming at me with extreme pain one Friday night and I called my God-sent brother-in-law and asked him to look in my ears.  So he did and sure enough, I had an ear infection and he asked what antibiotics I had taken recently and then I said "I can't take any antibiotics! I'm pregnant!" and Anna was there too (Birc was out of town) and she squealed and Aaron's jaw dropped. They were both thrilled! :) Continuing on (he got me some numbing drops and I held hot pads and hot wash cloths on my ear until it unstopped and the pain subsided) they kept the secret, and then Easter was around the corner. Birc and I had already planned to host a family lunch (3rd annual!) for both families and that is when we told them about Savannah a few years back, so we thought it was only right that we tell them about the next grandbaby on Easter again!

You probably can't see my apron but it has a picture of a bun in the oven and it says "There's a bun in the oven! Cook about nine months, will be ready mid-November!" I just came out in it and let everyone slowly read and figure it out. :) Grandad was first to see!

Here are some weekly pics we've been taking...

So I was wanting a "big sis" shirt for Savannah,so I searched on etsy but they are so pricey and I knew I could make one myself so I did.  Here are the ones I modeled it after:

And here's Savannah shirt made by yours truly! I loved it and she looks so cute it in (more pics below!) It cost me a whopping $6 for the shirt and all the letter fabric I had laying around from other projects as well as the buttons and the fusible iron stuff.  Then I put a decorative stitch all around the letters.

Here we are this morning taking a family pic!

I took Savannah to her class today in this and that is how I told her teachers I was pregnant! It was fun

Savannah, a baby is coming! Can you share your toys???

No??? With a foot-stomping-tantrum and everything?? Oh my...

Yes you were just stomping those feet.

But I meant to stomp them over there Mama.

and I'm NOT sharing my toys!

After begging and begging for a smile, I was running too late to push anymore so we took a selfie and I said, 'say cheese and show me your smile!' and this is what she did. :) Fake smile all the way! But I'll take it over any of the above pictures! Hah!

I think that brings everybody up to speed!

All of These Things Can Only Mean One Thing:

I'll give you ONE guess!

That's right! We are expecting Baby #2 around November 19! We are of course super excited and I have been waiting to tell extended family and friends for about 6 weeks now! I am 12 weeks along today and we heard a strong heartbeat at the doctor yesterday.  I'll recap more about it tomorrow and the next day but wanted to share the news today!  Here's his/her first picture around 8 weeks:

Sunday Funday

We had a great weekend and I of course wish I had taken more pictures but I will learn one of these days.  Today was my first Sunday to not have my kids choir that I volunteer as director for so we had such a nice long fun 'second day of the weekend' day!  Here's my pretty girl in a dress I wore when I was around her size.  (I don't know what the rest of you are getting as far as weather is concerned, but Mother Nature is on something special in Arkansas. Last week, Savannah wore a spaghetti strap dress one day, tank top and shorts another, and a sweatshirt with leggings under a pair of jeans another day.  With a coat on.  It is just crazy!  Hopefully this week things will start leveling out and acting like spring/summer that it's supposed to be.)  We've got a busy week ahead so I will try to document it all!

after her nap, I was working on some craft things I'm doing and so I sat her up with some colors and a snack and she was thrilled. :)

Coloring is hard work so she had to stop for a second. :) Check out that bed head.

What are you looking at, Mama?
Happy Monday!

Sleepyhead

Just a few shots of my sweetie when she's not moving 97 miles an hour!
At her class they are transitioning from cribs to mats on the floor (before cots) and sometimes I walk by just to see that adorable booty in the air!

Right when Savannah wakes up we get right back in my bed since Birc's either getting ready or already gone.  We eat breakfast in bed every day and snuggle and usually watch some babytv channel.

She has to bring her Flopsy, her bee bee (blanket, I have no idea where she got the name) and her paci when we get in my bed.
I love my snuggle puppy girl! (She loves Snuggle Puppy the book, do you have it? We sing the little ditty all the time to her :))
