Savannah is TWO!

I can't believe I have a two-year old!  Savannah's had a bit of a stinky birthday weekend, but hopefully everything will still happen that we've had to postpone.  Her birthday was on Friday, and Thursday night we started getting some sleet and ice here so everything closed down for Friday. We were planning a little "ladybug" themed family dinner party for her Friday night that got cancelled, and then her big party with all her friends was Saturday afternoon. Everything was still frozen so that got cancelled as well but rescheduled for Tuesday night.  As if that wasn't enough, the 3 of us sat down (Walker was already in bed) for dinner on Friday night and were planning to have a cupcake for dessert, and Savannah threw up all over her dinner plate.  She threw up one more time about an hour later, and felt horrible most of Friday night and Saturday morning/afternoon.  She perked back up Saturday night.  Fingers crossed and prayers sent up that no one else in the family gets it.

She did get to take cookies to her class for snack on Thursday afternoon, and got to open her presents from Birc and me on Friday morning.  I don't think she knew anything got cancelled or postponed though, and she loved getting the Happy Birthday song sung to her all day long. She probably loved having Birc, Walker, and me all to herself on Friday and not having to go anywhere.  She literally stayed in her pjs until we changed her into new pjs for the next night.

Donuts and Chocolate milk in mama and daddy's bed for breakfast!

her two presents from us besides the kitchen! Some dishes to go with the kitchen, and a new purse with all the particulars of course: Makeup compact, lipstick, phone, wallet, credit card, and keys.

KidKraft kitchen.  Love it.  Looks so cute.  Took literally EIGHT HOURS for me to assemble.  I was up tip 3:30 AM one night.  Brutal!

Putting on her 'lipstick'.  She has about 3 of those plastic fake lipsticks and she LOVES them!

She's been baking and cooking ever since!

Then we went out and played in the ice/snow for about 20 minutes.  We even sledded down our driveway on a piece of cardboard twice. :)

Walker slept through most all of the birthday festivities. And luckily through the throw-up too.

Here's a rather lengthy update on how miss Savannah Cate is doing: (skip it, I won't know!)

She is getting so big and it makes me happy and sad all at the same time.  Savannah is growing like a weed.  We had her 2-year checkup on the 5th and of course Aaron said she was still perfect and wonderful.  She's 26.2 pounds and 33 inches tall.  That puts her in the 35% for height and 45% for weight.  Her hair is getting so long, it is below her armpits, almost to her elbows, when wet.  She wears 18-24 month, 24 month, and a few 2T clothes and a size 6 shoe.  Savannah sleeps for about 10-12 hours each night, and still sometimes wakes up and cries for us but we just let her figure it out herself (which is sad for this mama but she's GOT to sleep, right?) and she eventually goes back to sleep.  She sleeps in her crib still and I have no intentions of putting her in a big girl bed until she asks to, or she climbs out of the crib. She sleeps relatively well right now and I am sure she will be out of the crib soon enough and I see no reason to rush it since I'm sure the first thing she'll do in a big girl bed is GET OUT of it. :) Then nobody is sleeping!  She takes one nap almost every day, for about 1 to 1.5 hours.  At school they says she sleeps for 2 but I can't believe them.
Savannah is a great eater, she loves cheese, turkey, sausage, peanut butter and jelly, crackers, mac and cheese, yogurt and yogurt smoothies, pizza, pasta, ANY fresh fruit, donuts, cookies, and loves the GoGo Squeeze applesauces.  She also has a current obsession with Fig Bars.  (Like a fig newton but a different brand that makes them double the size of a fig newton.)  Eats one every day.  She pretty much eats most everything we give her though, and has finally gotten to where she will eat most veggies we give her.  She likes carrots, green peas, and corn best.  She's still not a huge fan of chicken or beef, she honestly could probably be a vegetarian and be totally happy (like she's always been).  About half of her meals are meat-less I think.  She is not very good at keeping hydrated and only drinks about 10-12 oz of milk per day and maybe a couple oz of water or juice.
Savannah says about ten thousand things every day.  Her vocabulary is out of this world.  She talks my ear off and sings and shouts and whispers as much as her little mouth can do.  She narrates everything she's doing, names everything she can point to, counts all objects that are the same (like peas on her plate, she will count them as she eats them).  Everyone comments on how well she speaks and how MUCH she speaks for her age.  She is big on saying "who's that?" even in situations where she should be asking "what's that" but instead says "who".  It's cute! Another cute thing she says after she's cried is, "I crying. I sad. I want my mommy!" I say "Yes you did and now Mama has you and you are ok." She also says "mama, hold you, daddy, hold you" instead of "hold me"

Savannah was super interested in going to the potty about 2 months ago, right after Walker was born, and Birc and I didn't jump on it.  (we had one baby in the NICU, it was horrible timing!) Then she had an unfortunate bad experience on the potty one night that I'll spare you the details from, and she will not go near the thing unless she just wants to play.  I'm not going to rush her, just wait until she shows interest again and jump on it then.  She is getting a daily dose of Miralax right now, because she started holding #2 for days and days and it got bad.  Again, I'll spare you the details.  We have had to tell her that EVERYONE goes poopoo.  Now randomly, even in Target for example, she will say at the top of her lungs, "mama go poopoo, Anna go poopoo, CC go poopoo, E-Der-body go poopoo!". It's really fun and she always changes up who she names, and names every person she knows over the course of a few days.  Even animals.

My sweet girl goes to "school" every day for about 5-7 hours each day.  She cries almost every day I drop her off and it breaks my heart but the moment I leave, she stops and when I come get her she is always smiling and playing and having a good time.  I think she's just trying to play me.  She loves all of her classmates but her favorite friend is Charlee.  She and Charlee are girly girls and just have a great time together. They even call each other and face time on the weekends because they cry without each other.  It is sweet but oh my, dramatic!

Savannah is the sweetest, kindest, most loving and smart little girl a lot of the time but boy she can be very sassy and act crazy sometimes too.  She can throw a fit, let me tell you.  She lies down the floor and gets in position before she even starts the screaming.  It's comical, really.  I just have to shrug and walk away.  She's also been put in time out at home, mainly for hitting.  When she doesn't get her way (mainly with diaper changes or nap time) she will hit Birc or me, so we've been putting her in time out and having her apologize to us after a minute or two.  She says "Sorry mommy. No hit. Be Nice Savannah.I love you mama" Hah!  She loves giving hugs and kisses and being held, and she loves to love on Walker and the kitties.  She is a sweet big sister.  She loves to call CC and all her relatives on the phone, and she loves to play with babies, books, puzzles, and her new kitchen right now.  She also loves outside anytime!  I love my sweet Savannah and am so blessed she is here to make my days brighter and show us love and laughter all the time.

Savannah is so loved by so many and lucky to have grandparents, aunts, and uncles that think she hung the moon. We are so blessed her parents are doing a great job raising her. She is special as are her parents!!!
