We had nothing really planned this weekend besides two dinner things on Saturday and Sunday nights, and church Sunday morning. We managed to pack a lot in though, and I am so happy to tentatively say that Savannah is hopefully paci-free! She hasn't had a paci at all for one second (or seen one for that matter as we've hidden all of them) since Friday night. I am SO impressed with her and proud of her! She has had a very strong attachment to her paci since she was about 5 months old or so, and I have been dreading it and putting off getting rid of that thing since she first got hooked on it! After her first plane ride and Disney trip, however, we thought it was NOW or never. So Birc and I decided that this weekend was the weekend to do the 3-day method of cold turkey getting rid of it. And we've stuck to it and Savannah has done so awesome and SO much better than I thought she would! She surprises me sometimes with her smarts and her ability to adapt to something new and different. What a lucky mama I am to have such a wonderful girl :) [i have some blurry and terrible-quality pictures I'm going to post, that I took of her sleeping with her mouth wide open! She is going to be quite the drooler without this paci, I tell ya!]

Her AWESOME UNCLE AARON also decided to come over and build/install/put in/sweat buckets a Sand Box that is SO amazing! It has a wood lid and everything that folds back into two benches for sitting on and playing which is the coolest thing I have ever seen. Savannah already loves it and wants to go play outside every moment we are at home inside! Thanks Aaron!

| this is her "cheese" face! so cute |

| Savannah also had her first bloody nose this weekend, while playing outside and "helping" us clean up and get Aaron all finished up. She was running in our grass and literally faceplanted into the ground without catching herself at all. She came up with a mouthful of dirt and then a big nose bleed in her left nostril only. She recovered quickly and this mama was happy to have a doctor present! That's why she's had a quick bath here and it only in a diaper and her hair is cray-cray. |
I am also trying out a new and very temporary hair-do on Savannah. Her hair in the front is getting so long that it is hanging down to her mouth and nose, and it is driving her crazy. I try to sweep it to the side and keep an alligator clip/bow in it to keep it out of her face but those inevitably come out and then she's pulling at her hair and pushing it up and out of her face constantly. So she's going with a Pebbles look for a short time. She won't keep pigtails in for a whole day or a ponytail (I think maybe it hurts her head after a while since her hair is so short and the ponytails are so tight) She doesn't even notice it on the top of her head and never messes with it, and it keeps all the long hair out of her face. But she has so much short hair that's coming in and it looks like bangs, which I don't want to have to deal with styling and maintaining so we are just trying to let it all grow out at one time.
