December 6, 2012 Celebrations

I'm planning to recap what we did on Savannah's birthday today, and then over the next two or three days recap her party and then a 12 month post!
So to start her birthday, I let her sleep in (like she does every day until 9:30) and then we went and got some Shipley donut holes for breakfast!
birthday girl snuggling in mama's bed with her paci the way she likes it-upside down!
She had her banana and a donut hole for breakfast, which she LOVED!, and then we went to Kroger for some stuff and came home and got ready for the day! She and I ate lunch with Birc at home so he could see her too while I worked on emails and we had a great time! I took her to school around 1:00 but after a meeting went back and visited her at 1:34 (right when she was born one year ago!) and fed her her bottle.  It was precious and I very nearly cried looking at her one year later.  Then after a nap she and her 3 friends shared another donut hole treat after snack that she brought to share. :) Birc picked her up around 4 so they could come home and play and swing!

Her teacher made the sign just for her on her birthday!
1:34 PM.  So glad to be holding my sweet girl again at the exact same time!

Chatty Cathy.  Seriously she just talks and talks and talks!
My parents and Birc's parents came for dinner! We celebrated with her nursery colors as the theme.

Her cake! Which she did not like at all!

We totally forgot to put her party hat on her during the party so after when we were all in/getting in pjs, I put it on her!

opening presents from CC and Grandad and Nana and Gran and Mama and Daddy too!

Such a sweet picture!

Grandad built her a stepstool for the bathroom!! It is so pretty and they're going to paint her name on it! Such a special handmade treasure for Savannah to have from her Grandad. :)
She wasn't thrilled about the cake to say the least. She took some bites, but I think that was only to make me stop forcing her to! I was so hoping for a dive into the cake! Oh well, there's always next birthday!

I think Miss Savannah Cate had a great birthday-she crashed as soon as everyone left and slept so well! More celebration-accounts tomorrow! She is a lucky girl to have such great and loving grandparents.  Birc and I are so so so so thankful and blessed that we live so close to both of our families and they can be a daily part of Savannah's life.

Weekend Overload!

I hope you all had a great weekend! We started on Thursday night and had a wonderful, action-packed, joyful weekend full of celebrating our baby girl who is now our 1 year old! Between all the family and friends with 6 iphones, 3 cameras, and 2 video cameras, I easily have a thousand pictures to sort through. I'll leave you with a few highlights and have a full recap through the week.  I'm sure it will be Friday before I get to all the posts I want to make!
Happy Monday!

1 Year Later

1 year ago, Birc and I returned from Izzy's on the night of the 5th for our last date as a family of two before going to bed (I didn't sleep a wink!) and getting up the next morning to get induced to meet our sweet baby girl! It has been the longest and shortest year of my life at the same time and it has been full of fun, tears, joy, pain, love, anxiety, and mostly smiles and laughter.  I love my Savannah Cate SO MUCH I can't even describe it! I'll tell you all about our birthday excitement ahead Thursday night and Saturday afternoon.  Happy First Birthday, Savannah! I love you so much!
First Picture!

Date Night on Dec 5th to Izzy's.  We had no idea what was coming!

WOW. so glad I'm not pregnant anymore.  Headed to the hospital!

sweet baby. Oh my makes my heart smile.
The next three are from her 1-year shoot with Cara Beth studio. Once again she did an awesome job.  I'll show you all of them soon!

Also a special happy birthday to Uncle Steve! It is your big day too and we hope it is great!

Christmas-wear

I am a fan of holiday wear anyway, but I am not in a stage of life where I can wear it. I am too old to wear cute young things but am too young to wear the sweaters and such. Well lucky for me Savannah is the perfect model for all her Christmas clothing! PJs, bows, dresses, and outfits-she's got it all!

no pictures. it's bedtime, Mama. after I drum on the Aquaphor.

sleepy snowflake

apologies.  moving target! But it's a tshirt with santa and her name printed on it! So cute!

NO PICTURES MAMA!

I'll smile with my pretty dress on!

off topic, we made this tree the other night for our mantle but it ended up in our dining room.  I love her tiny handprints!

Everytime I put the phone on self portrait, she opens her mouth like this.  Hilarous! and the sugarplum PJs are adorable!

I'll leave you with my favorite.  We took savannah to see santa and CLEARLY it didn't go well.  We all knew we'd probably have a not great pic but SERIOUSLY she sounded like a fire alarm she was screaming so loud! And Birc and I couldn't stop laughing! Poor baby...
Can't wait to see all of your Christmas-wear!

Happy Birthday Aaron!

Aaron we are all so very lucky you are in our family! We could not ask for a better brother/uncle/son/doctor and think you are a great husband to Anna too.  We all hope you had a super day and 32 treats you well.

Happy Birthday Melissa!

Birc's sister Melissa had a birthday last week on the 29th of November and we couldn't get blogger to post at the time, so here you go! We love you!

Thanksgiving 2012

WARNING LONG POST AHEAD.  We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all of our family! I only wish I could have spent more time with everybody! We got some great times with everybody and I'll let the photos do the talking! If I saw you, I am so happy we spent time together, and if I didn't, I hope I see you at Christmas!
Uncle Aaron giving Savannah rides while chasing Tucker!

The too-quick Morledge and Haven Christmas with 4 generations right there!

Pretty much all we did for 5 days.

CC was the main entertainment.

CC's handmade turkey dress! We love it and she looked precious all day! I'm hoping to wear it as a shirt next Thanksgiving

I got to meet baby Spencer! I cannot believe Savannah was ever that small but Spencer was such a good baby-sleeping through all types of commotion! He is precious, Stephie.

Our food for thanksgiving.  We are serious, y'all.

Who's going first??

aaannnd, two hours after turkey consumption, the nap hit everyone but me! Hilarous!
Maxwell and Savannah played a little and had fun on the steps!

ya know, snacking

tongue alert.

CC was so happy to have a girl to sit still and listen to a book! Savannah is too busy but will get there eventually :)

Grandad walked Savannah all around the yard and pushed her in the swing and play play played with her!

Stairstep swinging!

Granddaddy and Grandad!

my loves

moving target X3 makes for a hard picture to get.

so we tried another bench but this was the best we could do.

I love this pic of Delaney! She didn't want to leave and it reminds me of me when I was little playing in my front yard! I loved the bridge and thought it was SO COOL. which it is.
just playing

all smiles there!

so I twisted everyone's arm to get a family pic with everyone using Anna's fancypants camera and Daddy's tripod so we did. Anna used her new remote and Aaron was responsible for throwing the purple ball so Savannah would look in the direction of the camera. It sorta worked.

I think this one's great! We are a good looking family!

Tucker buddy!

Our little family of 3 :)
Hope you made it through this long post.  And hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as much as I did!
